Mexico by the Numbers

7 months ago 10 people decided to put their faith in action and answer God's call to go to Chiconautla, Mexico for 9 days.

4 of the 10 team members are going to Chiconautla for the first time.

The 10 team members will connect with the Chaffin family of 4 who have already spent 10 days working with the church in Chiconautla (Note: I know there are 12 people in the photo included with this post... the Chaffin kids weren't in attendance the day we decided to take the photo).

The team leaves Minneapolis at 6:50 AM and lands in Mexico city at 12:50 PM (there is a layover somewhere in there). Over 800 pounds of luggage will be hauled by the team to Chiconautla.

Almost 1000 crafts were prepared and individually packaged by the team for the 6 children's ministry events that are planned for the week. 30 pounds of candy has been packed and will be shared with the children during the children's ministry events.

5 families in Chiconautla have opened their homes to the team members. The host families will feed, shelter and laugh with the team members and new friendships will be formed and existing friendships will be strengthened.

500 pounds of tortillas will be consumed by the team members (okay, I made that one up... but we will eat a lot of tortillas while we are there!).

The team will attend 3 church services on Sunday and 4 services during the rest of the week (That is 7 if you are keeping score). 10 faith stories will be shared during the church services.

Hundreds of kids (I'm not kidding this time) will hear about how Jesus seeks the lost of the world as the 14 Northwooders perform a skit based on the parable of the lost sheep (Luke 15:3-7).

14 Northwooders (10 team members + 4 Chaffins) will have their lives changed.
